Chattanooga is a large city in Tennessee that is rich in culture and history. The name "Chattanooga" comes from the Muscogee Indian word that is roughly equivalent to "rock rising to a point." This is said to be in reference to Lookout Mountain, which is one of the city's most famous attractions.

History buffs will get a kick out of the city's museums dedicated to the Civil War, African-American contributions, and its railroad and regional history. A city full of natural wonders, Chattanooga is easy to explore by foot, shuttle, or river taxi.

By foot

If you are up for a leisurely stroll, you can navigate Chattanooga by foot. Stay and tour the city for a few days and you’ll find that most hotels in Chattanooga TN are within walking distance to a number of the major attractions.

By shuttle

If you or a female companion is wearing heels and you have a long distance to travel, don't worry. The Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority (CARTA)offers one of the easiest ways to travel around the city’s downtown via its free electric shuttle. The shuttle runs between many of the hotels in Chattanooga and the Tennessee Aquarium. It also passes Chattanooga's North Shore shops and Coolidge Park.

By river taxi

The river shuttles are the latest addition to Chattanooga’s transportation services.These boats can takeyou across the river to the areas near Coolidgepark. By taking the river taxi, you can also cross the Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge and reach the North Shore.

Chattanooga is a scenic city that is home to many of the world’s most uniqueand fabulousdestinations. The Tennessee Aquarium, for example, is the largest freshwater aquarium in the planet.One the other hand, the Walnut Street Bridge is the world’s longest pedestrian bridge. Another unique place to visit in the city is the Chattanooga ChooChoo, a hotel that used to be a train station. With its Victorian Train Cars, Hotel Suites, or Standard Rooms, Chattanooga ChooChoo is a hotel unlike any other.These attractions are just some of the things that make Chattanooga so special.
